To our dear friends,
I am reaching out to you as a friend and as someone who has heard my personal story over the past two years. For those who may not know, in March 2019 I had a Bone Marrow Transplant which was the culmination of 5 years of great difficulties for the Barax family.
But now, I am proud to carry the torch for an organization which has brought compassionate support to countless families including my own. When it’s your children and your family’s need on the line, you know the special blessings they bestow.
Chava and I are forever grateful to the team at I-Shine, a project of Chai Lifeline for the after-school care and study guidance they offered our daughters; the special activities supervised by teen-age ‘big sisters’; and evening visits to entertain the girls which brought Chava much needed respite during my months of recuperation.
Every day, Chai Lifeline staff and volunteers around the world work to improve the lives of children with cancer, disabilities, and chronic illnesses, providing unparalleled social, emotional, and financial assistance. Because, this year, families confronting pediatric illness and loss are also faced with unprecedented health and economic challenges due to the global pandemic, they need our help more than ever before.
Your tax-deductible contribution will have a direct impact, enabling Chai Lifeline to offer essential programs and services, including professional case management and counseling; transportation to medical appointments; nourishing meals delivered to hospitals and homes; emergency financial assistance; Project Chai crisis intervention, trauma and bereavement support; insurance and medical advocacy; respite and volunteer visits; i-Shine after school programming for children living with illness or loss in their homes; a medically-supervised, magical summer experience at Camp Simcha, Camp Simcha Special, and newly-launched Camp Simcha Without Borders initiative; and so much more.
Your donation would mean so much to the Barax family, and to the families and children of Chai Lifeline. Please give generously to our campaign and join me on December 8 as we celebrate this wonderful organization at Chai Lifeline’s virtual Global Gala.
With our profound gratitude,
Tzvi and Chava Barax
